And if you’re like us, you’ve probably been a bit nervous about checking your laptop computer in case you get locked out.
Thankfully, a new technology called UVB is here to help.
It’s the next generation of security and can do just about anything it sets its mind to, including removing the UV rays from your computer screens.
“It can make the screen invisible to anyone that comes near it,” says Professor Simon Scott, a lecturer at the University of Western Australia and an expert in the science of protecting electronics.
“UVB can actually absorb the UV photons that the camera is shooting at it.
So if you have a device like an iPad, a camera, or a screen, you can simply use a UVB protector or mask to stop UV rays bouncing off the screen.”
“You can protect your iPad from sunlight, for example.”
Professor Scott says that if you look at your iPad or a smartphone, the UVB screen may look like a normal screen.
But it actually absorbs a lot more than it absorbs in sunlight.
“There’s a lot of absorption from UVB in the air,” he says.
“If you look up, it absorbs more light than you can see, so you can imagine that there’s a large area on the screen where you can’t see the screen at all.”
If you’ve got a UV filter, it’ll stop most UV rays, but you need a UV protector to stop the UV from penetrating into your skin.
And a UV mask can stop the entire UV spectrum.
“The UVB filter will only stop the visible part of the spectrum.
“In the case of a smartphone or tablet, the ultraviolet and infrared parts of that spectrum are the most dangerous, so if you’ve had any problems with that, you need an ultraviolet filter.” “

Professor Simon says there are some UV filters that can block ultraviolet and visible light but the UV filter will not block infrared or ultraviolet.
The UV filter on the iPhone can block all UV rays.
If you want to remove the UV, you have to remove it from your skin through a UV barrier, which involves putting it on a filter or mask.
“You’ll need to put a mask on it,” he explains.
Professor Scott has been testing UV filters and masks to see what works best.
He has found a UV shield that protects the screen and a UV blocker that stops UV from reaching the screen.
He’s been able to get the screen working again for up to 30 minutes.
“So there’s no need to be concerned that the screen is going to go dark if you remove it,” Professor Simon explains.
Professor Scott says the next step for UVB would be to test the technology for long-term protection.
“Then we’ll start to look at different UV filters for different applications,” he adds.
What you need to know about UVB: UVB refers to the wavelength of light absorbed by the air.
It is the wavelength which is most easily reflected by the surface of a glass object such as a screen.
UVB filters are commonly used in the electronics industry to block UV light.
